General Skilled Migration Visa
General Skilled Migration Visa is the most common way for skilled immigrants to migrate to Australia. The purpose of this program is to meet the shortage of skills in different occupations by inviting competent and skilled workers to live and work in Australia.

General Skilled Migration program includes three kinds of different visa:
Steps to apply General Skilled Migration Visa
The applicant can apply for this visa by following these steps:
- Firstly, select the relevant occupation from the list of eligible skilled occupations
- Secondly, get the skills assessed by relevant assessing authority against the occupation
- Thirdly, calculate the points of interest based on age, qualifications, English language skills, Australian study requirements, skills employment and education qualification using the point table. Most importantly, the applicant must get at least 65 points to apply for the visa
- Submit an Expression of Interest that includes occupation, skills, and qualifications in SkillSelect online immigration system that estimates the point score and rank the applicants
- After clearing the above-mentioned steps, receive the invitation to apply for the visa. Only in case of getting enough points and places available for the occupation
